Summer studio is a necessary step for Virginia Tech interior students to transfer to the architecture major. Students have one-on-one interviews with a professor in March. After passing the interview, they need to take the summer design lab. If students achieve A- or A in the summer lab, they will transfer into the second year of architecture. Otherwise, they have to stay in the first year of architecture.
